Meet, Greet, Eats in the park

SMLC will participate again in the 2023 City of Littleton’s  “Meet, Greet and Eats” by sponsoring the South Platte Park naturalists who will provide family nature activities.  The ranger naturalists help people understand the wildlife in the ponds and creeks in their neighborhood park, demonstrating the value of urban forests for local wildlife close to home and the value of floodplain nature in parks.

Come See Us!

  • June 21, 2023 - Geneva Park
  • July 19, 2023 - Southbridge or Writer's Vista
  • August 30, 2023 - Powers Park
SMLC once again sponsored the S. Platte Park naturalist staff at the Geneva Park Meet and Greet. The exhibit helps people understand flooding, river dynamics and how water changes the land.

On June 21, SMLC joined others across the state to celebrate Generation Wild Day by doing a hopscotch in Littleton. (Some children were more interested in drawing snakes with their chalk!) Learn more about Generation Wild here:  https://www.generationwild.com/

SMLC is a Generation Wild Partner since 2017!

South Metro Land Conservancy has partnered with Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) on the Generation Wild initiative to encourage young people to reconnect with nature and have fun outside. For more information, including the List of 100 Things to Do Before You're 12 (which are also fun to do if you're older than that!), check out the Generation Wild website.
